German landscape painter GUSTAV SCHÖNLEBER is considered one of the great German painters of the late 19th century.
Schönleber taught as Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe from 1880 to 1917 and became a teacher of many famous artists, including Kallmorgen and Paul Müller-Kaempff.
His works were shown in a 1909 exhibition of German art at the Metropolitan Museum, New York.
