Provenance: Collection of Henry Cochin (1854 - Paris - 1926). Cochin was a French politician and independent scholar who could afford to devote himself to his studies of the Renaissance, as he came from a wealthy family of intellectuals.

The showpiece is one of the very few examples from the small artist's oeuvre.


Charles Marie DULAC (1865 - Paris - 1898)
intended to Impressionism, before he became a Symbolist painter and a famous printmaker in particular. His later works are the expression of a great religion, which culminated in the conversion to Catholicism.

Since 1890 the artist suffered from a slow poisoning, which he had contracted before the beginning of his career with jobs in industry.
